How Amazing Am I?
I'm getting so much interesting feedback from folks on the town of Reunion that I'm starting to get a big head. On my shoulders.
My attention to detail. My unswerving patience in the recreation. Staying true to the era I've chosen. Weaving a beautiful picture out of cardboard and plastic. My opus. My wonderfulness. My extreme talent....
...is, actually... er... nothing.
Click this. And when you get there just keep hitting "next."
Yeah. Truth is - compared to people with REAL talent I ain't doing shit. Life story. But go be amazed. Hard to believe, but it's miniatures.
Holy crap!

yep, certainly cool.
backstory? i'm thinkin' not as cool as yours.
motivation? ditto.
get past the fact that it's a lot of really, really small stuff and the coolest part of that site is the lighting and the focal length of the shots.
anything can be scaled down, but not everyone who does that has the ability to infuse that tiny stuff with soul.
that would be what you're doing, RW, in Reunion. it's not about the tiny town, it's about why it's there, and who's coming home...and who's waiting...
Ahhh, I love the smell of fresh self deprecation early in the morning.
I agree wholeheartedly with the previous commenter.
well I appreciate the sentiment but come on! That stuff is over the top, out of this world! And I see a lot of "heart and soul" in it as well. I mean, thanks, but, seriously!
I'd still rather spend a day in your town. Are you putting in a pub I can visit?
I think your finished product will be just as impressive that his. Especially if you photograph it properly.
I'm blown away by the smallness of it all. I stared at that one picture of the construction site for 2 or 3 minutes. Wow.
steph - there'll be a pub, but I don't know if it'll be in this year's version. This will be an ongoing project.
avitable- the camera is really only half of it (admittedly not my best half but I think I'm getting better). The key - as I've been looking at pictures taken at a higher level of miniature terrains - is all in the lighting. Lighting is a huge percent of the equation.
earl - i think the Sumo wrestlers just blew me away.
Wow.
wow indeed!
I hate it when I paint my "Masterpiece" and then hang it by other people's and go, "Man, I SUCK."
Of course, any good artist will always do that.
annie, you're still out there?? What the hell!!?
too hard on yourslf RW.
your skills and soul-infusion are incredable.
as least as good as these other masters of the craft.
