Doing Lately...
Recently, after more than 30 years of being completely off of their radar screens, the Church of Scientology calls me up - out of the blue - and starts sending me their literature. How they found me after moves and number changes, why they bothered, and what they have in mind, I have no idea.
But here's my answer...
Google...
Lisa Mcpherson
Operation Snow White
Xenu
I said... TAKE ME OFF YOUR MAILING LIST
Oh and by the way, Tom Cruise can't act for shit.

No. You're wrong. He sucked. Same character every film. That's not acting, that's being a personality. Tom Cruise can't act for shit. That on top of the little twerpness.
You heard about the "Annonymous" group that staged the protest here in Clearwater a couple of weeks ago? Right?
granny - (do you know how much of Clearwater is owned by the cult?) But... eh... Anonymous? You mean the people who staged protests at every location in the US and Europe a couple of weeks ago and are going to do the same on March 15 and are sponsoring all kinds of web sites and information exchanges about the European indictments for fraud and the folks who are asking why, if Scientology works, the guy who invented it was such a drug abuser and never cured his own arthritis? Um... why no.
Heh...
Heh...
That is frightening.
Especially the part about "some day people will say this stuff is illegal, make sure the orgs are the ones who decide what's legal or not."
JEEZ!
My husband's company is owned by a Scientologist.
In Clearwater.

"Little twirpness" Ha! I love that!
I was familiar with Xenu and Lisa McPherson, but I had no idea about Operation Snow White. I would not want to be on these people's mailing list...

For years, Scientologist always were in the "funny crazy" category the way I saw it.
Now they seem to be sneaking over the line into "dangerous crazy" land.
The more I read about them, the more frightened I get.
And I will say that while I have enjoyed some of his movies, I agree that Tom Cruise can't act. Watching him in "Magnolia" is just plain weird now after seeing him speak about his "religion".

Operation Snow White is just the start. Operation Freakout was done on an early critic named Paulette Cooper - the cult sued her something like 19 times, threatened to sue public libraries unless they got rid of her book from the shelves. They lost, and Ms. Cooper 9who was born in Auschwitz where her parents were in prison) is doing quite nicely!
The more I think about this, the scarier it seems. At least you are far, far away from Clearwater, Florida.
And yeah, I agree that Tom Cruise has generally been vastly overrated as an actor. However, about the time he hit OTV, his acting really seemed to hit the dumpster in a big way.

AB - The Koran is free. The Bible is free. the Veda is free. The equivalent materials from Scientology are $4000.
The latest thing they're doing is sending two 50-lb boxes full of books to former members with $5000 invoices attached. But, this is illegal, and some folks are planning on sending them back "refused" but all on the same day... PAHH!

Operation Freakout... and RW's connection?
Look at this report for the name Mike Meisner. When he was doing that (before he turned state's evidence and blew the whole whistle) he worked upstairs from where I was in DC. We're also both from the same "feeder" mission.

I liked Cruise in A Few Good Men ... the same way I liked Kevin Costner in No Way Out. Neither one can convey more than one emotion but that one emotion just happened to work in both movies.
As for Scientology ... scary.
As for Scientology ... scary.
I will never have a problem with any religion, no matter how wacky it may seem to me, AS LONG AS it doesn't promote bringing harm to others. This is just disgusting.
What's a "feeder" mission?
